Behaviour Consultation
Initial consultations will usually take around 30 minutes and are completely free. They can take place in person or over a Zoom call. This will vary depending on both yours and your dog's needs and preferences.
In the initial consultation we will have a brief discussion of what we can offer along with going over client contracts and pricing.
No training will happen during the free consultation.
After you've agreed to your contract the first session can be booked and will be a more in-depth consultation that will take around 1.5 hours where we will talk through the behaviours that your dog is displaying along with when and why you think the behaviours started.
Once we have discussed your dogs behaviour we will work together to create a behavioural modification plan tailored to your needs.
In the second half of the consultation, I will show you techniques you can use to manage your dog's behaviour and how to begin implementing the behaviour modification plan we created.
The cost of a behavioural consultation is £75
This includes the 1.5-hour consultation; correspondence with your vet; a written behaviour modification plan; ongoing email and phone support; and one follow-up session.
Additional sessions can be booked, these sessions will cost an additional £40 per hour.
As a behaviourist, I am only able to see behaviour cases with a referral from your dog’s vet. This is to ensure that it isn’t a potential medical condition that is causing or worsening your dog's behaviour. There are two ways to receive a referral:
If you have not yet spoken to your vet.
- please contact me first and I can send you a referral form for your vet to complete and send to me.
If you have already spoken to your vet about your dog's behaviour.
- you can ask them to send me a signed referral form, alongside a copy of your pet's medical history.
When you contact me I will initially send you a questionnaire to fill out about your dog. Once I receive your completed questionnaire and your vet's referral, I will contact you to book your initial consultation.
